Once agreed, we install or replace the cylinder, connect the controls and safety components, complete the discharge pipework and commission the system. We will then show you how it operates and explain any simple checks you should be aware of.

Can an unvented cylinder work with a boiler or heat pump?

Yes. Unvented cylinders can be used with suitable boiler systems and air source heat pumps. If you currently have a boiler but may switch to an air source heat pump in the future, we can specify a heat pump-ready cylinder to help prepare the hot water system for that later upgrade. The cylinder coil, capacity and controls must be correctly matched to the heat source.

Do unvented cylinders need annual servicing?

Why is water running through the tundish?

Visible water passing through the tundish can indicate a pressure, expansion or temperature control problem. Do not block or cap the discharge pipe. Arrange an inspection by a suitably qualified engineer.

Are unvented cylinders safe?

Yes, when they are correctly installed and maintained. Unvented cylinders use several safety controls and must be installed in accordance with the relevant Building Regulations by a competent person.
